Contribution Rules
Who Can Donate?
Eligible Donors: Individuals residing in Alberta, corporations operating in Alberta, and Alberta-based trade unions.
Donation Limits:
To Individual Candidates:
- Annual Limit: Donors can contribute up to $5,000 to candidates in Calgary each calendar year.
- How it Works: This total is shared across all candidates. For example, if a donor gives $1,000 to another Calgary candidate, that same donor can give $4,000 more to other candidates.
Please also note that municipal donations are not tax deductible.
